Port Townsend Farmer’s Market
Uptown, on the corner of Tyler & Lawrence streets
Winter Hours - Saturdays from 10:00am-2:00pm through December 21st. Hours earlier in the season are typically 9:00 am-2:00 pm
This is one of the best Farmer’s Markets around - named the WA State Market of the Year! Be sure to stop by for live music, local produce, eggs, meat, cheese, baked goods, and various local artists. It is the perfect spot to wander, graze and soak in the local flavor or do some serious shopping. We love our Farmer's Market!
Winter Ice Village and Ice Skating - PORT ANGELES
Stay at Chevy Chase Beach Cabins and enjoy a day trip to Port Angeles to lace up some ice skates at the Winter Ice Village. A fun time for the family. Open noon to 9 p.m. daily with ice resurfacing at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Holiday Lights
Use Chevy Chase Beach Cabins for your base to kick off the holiday season. Check out the holiday lights on the streets of downtown Port Townsend and in and around the area. In addition to the cute downtown areas make sure to check out the amazing holiday light display in Blyn (on the way to Sequim) throughout the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribal Properties (over 3 million LED lights) as well as see the thousands of lights that brighten the historic railroad bridge crossing the Dungeness River on Olympic Discovery Trail at Railroad Bridge Park (the lights can be enjoyed from dusk to 9 p.m.) in Sequim.
State Park free admission days - 11/29, 1/1, 1/15 and more
Use Chevy Chase Beach Cabins as your base camp and take advantage of the State Park - Free Admission Days which include: November 29th (Autumn Day), January 1st (New Year's Day), January 15th (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day) and more. There are many wonderful places to visit on the Olympic Peninsula including Fort Worden, Fort Flagler and many more (many of which are dog friendly). See additional dates here.
Hurricane Ridge - Winter season - 11/29 - 3/30
Chevy Chase Beach Cabins is the perfect home base to explore the Olympic Peninsula and Hurricane Ridge is a wonderful winter day trip. Hurricane Ridge is a wonderful winter day trip. Typically snow-covered Hurricane Ridge it is a great place for snowshoeing, cross-country and downhill skiing, snowboarding, tubing and more. Hurricane Ridge Road is scheduled to be open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through March 30, 2025 and some holidays, typically opening at 9 am and closing by 5 pm. First Night - NYE Celebration For All Ages
Stay at Chevy Chase Beach Cabins and ring in the New Year in Port Townsend. Take part in First Night which is an all-ages New Year’s Eve extravaganza in downtown Port Townsend featuring live music, a circus arts & acrobatic variety show, theater performances, food vendors, lantern making and parade, face painting, firepits, fireworks and more. The family fun starts at 3 p.m. on December 31st.
Strange Brewfest - 1/31/25 and 2/1/25
Check out the 18th annual Strange Brewfest in Port Townsend celebrating PNW Brewers with lots of fun and live music. 21+ over event and no dogs please. Friday 5 p.m. to midnight and Saturday 1 p.m. to midnight. Purchase tickets and learn more here.
Port Townsend Treelighting Celebration 12/7
An annual Port Townsend tradition. Santa is coming to town! Kick off the holiday season with some small-town charm. The festivities begin at Tyler Plaza under the heated tent from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. There will be appearances and photo ops with Santa. The Wild Rose Chorale will be out and about singing merry tunes and PT Artscape will help the kiddos make ornaments. At 4:30 p.m. Santa will leave the Flagship Landing area on the Kiwanis Choo Choo and head over to Haller Fountain to light the Community Tree. Learn More about the Holidays in Port Townsend.
Small Business Saturday 11/30
Saturday, November 30th is a day to celebrate and support small businesses - there are so many great shops and restaurants in Port Townsend (and Chevy Chase Beach Cabins is a small business too :-)). Get a jump on the holiday season with some gifts from local vendors. There will also be FREE event TBD under the heated tent downtown at Tyler Plaza from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Unable to make it in person to Port Townsend - don’t worry - you can also support small businesses in the area by purchasing gift certificates and/or writing positive reviews online.
Dungeness River - Nature Mart 11/23 and 11/24
Get in the spirit of the holidays with an annual holiday tradition (since 2006) which features hand-crafted gifts and ornaments, wreath making, flower arrangements, delicious baked goods, holiday photo ops and enjoy thousands of lights on the Historic Railroad Bridge in Sequim.

Olympic Peninsula Apple and Cider Festival 10/10-10/13
Use Chevy Chase Beach Cabins as your base for the Olympic Peninsula Apple & Cider Festival. This annual agritourism event is a fun celebration of the season and tastes of the region - showcasing some wonderful local businesses. There are several events including a cider and food pairing at the Guardhouse at Fort Worden, Oktoberfest at the Old Alcohol Plant, a Cider Saloon featuring 30+ regional hard ciders, cider pressing, delicious food, live music and more, a Fall Fire Party at Propolis, Finnriver Apple Day and more. Kinetic Sculpture Race - 10/5 - 10/6
Experience the 40th Great Port Townsend Bay Kinetic Sculpture Race in Port Townsend. Saturday’s festivities start at noon beginning with a parade downtown, followed by a water portion of the race. Saturday evening there is a Koronation Ball with entertainment, music and more. Sunday the race continues. Learn More.
Wilderbee Farm - U-Pick Pumpkin Patch (Wed-Sun in October)
One of our favorite annual traditions to kick off the fall season is to visit the family run Wilderbee Farm and pick out our pumpkins. They open Saturday October 5th and are then open 12-5 Wednesdays through Sundays in October. While you are there you can also feed the British Soap sheep, explore the nature trails and the adults can sip some mead at their gorgeous tasting room (tasting room open on weekends).
25th Annual Port Townsend Film Festival 9/19-9/22
The Port Townsend Film Festival is the oldest, largest film festival on the Olympic Peninsula. Enjoy films, workshops, filmmaker meet and greets, outdoor movies, music and more. Learn more or buy passes here.
Jefferson County Farm Tour: 9/14 - 9/15
The 22nd annual Jefferson County Farm Tour.is presented by the Production Alliance in partnership with WSU Jefferson County Extension and local farmers. The weekend celebrates locally grown food and farm-made products. It is a fun opportunity to engage with and support local farmers. There are 15 featured properties. Pets are NOT allowed on tours. Wooden Boat Festival
This year Port Townsend will be hosting the 47th Wooden Boat Festival. Featuring 250+ wooden vessels, indoor and outdoor presentations and demonstrations, a boat building competition, sailing adventures and more. Learn more. We have a last minute opening in Cabin 6 - Friday, September 6th through Monday, September 9th!
Concerts on the Dock (THURSDAYS)
A free outdoor concert series at in downtown Port Townsend at Pope Marine Plaza featuring primarily local bands on Thursdays starting July 11th through August 29th. The concerts take place from 5:00-7:00 pm and include a beer/wine/cider garden and local vendors. Get more info and see the lineup here.
Rhody Festival
The Rhododendron festival is a local celebration which includes a trike race (5/15), a pet parade (5/16), kiddies parade, bed races (5/17) grand parade and cake picnic (5/18), Rhody run (5/19) and so much more. Learn more about the Rhody Event Schedule and Details.
Victorian Heritage Festival
Port Townsend is one of only three American Victorian Seaports listed on the National Registry of Historical Places. Come immerse yourself in the charms of Port Townsend and the history. Events include Victoria Open House, afternoon tea, walking tours and more. Learn more.
2024 Whale Watching Season
Puget Sound Express kicked off their 2024 whale watching season in Port Townsend in March. In the late spring and summer months there are several whale species that can be seen including humpbacks, killer whales, minke whales and even gray whales.
PT Magic of Christmas '23
Kick off the holiday season at Chevy Chase Beach Cabins and enjoy a Christmas festival in Port Townsend. The theme this year is Kringle’s Christmas Express. Visit with or write a letter to Santa in his workshop, play some reindeer games, elf arts & crafts, enjoy holiday cookies and cocoa, music and more (Dec 6th-9th and 11th from 6 -8 pm) There will also be a holiday lighted Vehicle Parade (December 9th from 5:30 - 6:30 pm) and the Mistletoe Market (on December 10th from 10 am - 6 pm).
Port Townsend Wine & Cheese Tour
Stay with us and enjoy the Port Townsend Wine & Cheese Tour which is Saturday, November 11th and Sunday, November 12th). There are four great wineries to tour and enjoy their wine with specially curated cheese pairings. Join the tour and visit Eaglemount Winery & Cidery, FairWinds Winery, Port Townsend Vineyards, and Rain Coast Cellars. This is a 21+ event. Book your tickets today.
Date Night At Marrowstone Vineyards 2/17
Looking for a romantic getaway - spend a weekend at Chevy Chase Beach Cabins and head to Marrowstone Vineyards for a Saturday Night Date Night where you can enjoy some music, sweet treats and delicious Marrowstone Vineyards wine in an intimate setting. $15 cover from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on February 17th.
