The clustered cottages and the beauty of the property are conducive to celebrating, recharging, team-building and connecting. We have hosted family reunions, birthday weekends, writers' workshops, painting retreats, business conferences, knitting groups, restaurant staff getaways, wellness retreats, yoga workshops and more. All events are unique and we like to give each gathering our utmost personal attention, regardless of size.

Please contact Jenn for detailed information about rates, group deposit/cancellation policies, and endless possibilities! Please note we do not allow weddings, elopements, other parties/events on property without prior permission.

Reunions, Birthdays and Anniversary Celebrations

Many family reunions, birthday and anniversary celebrations take place at Chevy Chase every year. Groups of family and friends can rent a cluster of cottages or the entire property and share meals in either the Clubhouse or Homestead cabins. We are happy to provide spare tables, chairs and dishware to the host cabin with prior arrangement. Unplug, re-connect and watch your family and friends bond while taking advantage of our amenities: play outdoor lawn games, have bonfires on the beach or by the gazebo, enjoy quiet reflection and conversation on a deck with spectacular views, and spend a relaxed evening playing games in front of a cozy fireplace.

Team Building Retreats and Workshops

The intimacy of our property inspires connection and is perfect for team-building retreats and workshops. Participants can bond in shared accommodations, feel inspired in our beautiful setting, eat meals together in one cabin and move to another cabin for a focused meeting or team-building session. Our staff is happy to help with event coordination, assist with lodging details, create beautiful floral arrangements, and facilitate other needs for your group. Take a break from the day’s activities and spend time walking and reflecting at the beach or enjoy a team bbq, fire and s’mores at the gazebo.

Knitting Groups, Book Clubs, Yoga or Golf Retreats and More

Our space is flexible and a great spot to host a book club meeting, knitting group our quilting party. You can rent the full property for a yoga retreat and enjoy your yoga sessions on the lawn overlooking Discovery Bay and the Olympic Mountains. Love to golf - Discovery Bay Golf Course (formerly Chevy Chase Golf Club) is right across the street so Chevy is the perfect place for a golf retreat. You can even stay in and host group dinners in the original Clubhouse which is now a cabin. We have also had guests bring in caterers to the host their dinners in the Clubhouse or Homestead (with prior approval).

Weddings and Elopements

While we love hosting weddings, we are currently on an indefinite pause from hosting weddings and receptions at Chevy Chase Beach Cabins. We will be revisiting this later in 2024 but at this time we aren’t booking nor giving tours for weddings for 2024 or 2025. Thank you for your understanding and we hope you find the perfect spot for your special day.

FAQs

  • This is a somewhat complicated question and depends on how comfortable your group is with each other. The simple answer is anywhere from 12 to 29 people. Here is the breakdown:

--At maximum capacity, all seven cabins can sleep 29 people total, but that is cozy. That means there are two people in every queen/king bed, and all "extra" sleeping surfaces (ie: futons, daybeds and pull-out couches) are used as well. "Real bed" capacity (with two people in each queen/king and one person in each twin) is 24 people. Please note that there is an extra charge of $20/nt for each guest beyond the "real bed" capacity in the cabin.

--There are 14 beds total between the cabins (18 if you include futons, daybeds and pull-out couches) if each person in your group needs their own bed, but not necessarily their own bedroom.

--There are 12 bedrooms total between the cabins if each person in your group requires their own bedroom.

Please note we are firm on our maximum capacities in each cabin and on the property. We count all humans regardless of age (including infants, toddlers, children and teens) towards our maximum capacities. We count guests this way for a variety of reasons including guest comfort, liability, fire code, parity and our sensitive septic system.

  • (note that we have a two-night or three-night minimum depending on the season)

    Peak Season = $2,010 per night; Mid-Season = $1,660 per night; Quiet Season = $1,500 per night

Additional charges include 11.1% tax, cleaning fees, pet fees and extra guest fees.

Sorry, we do not extend discounts to groups who are renting multiple (or all) of the cabins on the property (unless, of course, you are taking advantage of an advertised special). While we love hosting groups, it tends to create more work for our staff and adds extra wear and tear on the cabins.

Please note this does not reflect additional costs for events which vary based on type of event.

  • The Clubhouse Cabin (the 2-bedroom cottage on the bluff) has the best layout for cooking, eating and meeting as a group. The floorplan is open and the furniture can be re-arranged to accommodate extra tables and chairs, which we can provide as needed. There are dishes, flatware and glassware for twelve in the cottage, and we can leave a basket of extra place settings depending on the size of your group (so you don't have to "borrow" from the other cabins). Groups of 20 have had meetings and shared meals together in this space and been comfortable.

The Homestead House is also conducive to group gatherings, though the interior space is a bit less flexible than the Clubhouse and can't accommodate quite as many extra people. A group of 14 could share a meal or use the Homestead House as meeting space and feel comfortable. It is also a great spot for outdoor gatherings.

  • Although the white Victorian (formerly Chevy Chase Inn), was run as an Inn until approximately the 1950’s we don’t currently rent out rooms for guests to stay in the Inn.

Pre-covid, we rented out the parlors, sunroom and kitchen for weddings and events but have taken an indefinite pause on this at this time as it is our private home.

  • The real bed and maximum capacities of the cabins are included below. We count all humans regardless of age (including infants, toddlers, children and teens) towards our maximum capacities. We count guests this way for a variety of reasons including guest comfort, liability, fire code, parity and our sensitive septic system and we unfortunately do not allow extra guests above our maximum capacity in each cabin.
